It has been a busy week of press interviews, unpacking and NHL puck drops for Westerlo native Luke McDermott, who won gold in his first Paralympic sled hockey competition on March 18.

With a minute left in the gold medal game, Canada had a 1-0 lead when the U.S. pulled goalie Steve Cash, leaving an empty net. Within half that minute, Canada took a shot which hit the post and gave the U.S. the opportunity to score a tying goal. Eight and a half minutes into overtime, Team USA netted their winning shot.
