With the NHL’s decision to stay out of the 2018 Winter Games, the U.S. Olympic Men’s Hockey team consists of players from college teams, European teams and U.S. minor leagues. Nevertheless, the team is made up of strong players, three of which are from Upstate New York.

In three out of the last four Olympic Winter Games, the U.S. men’s hockey team finished in the top four. In 2002 and 2010, the U.S. team won silver medals. The last time the U.S. team reached such a stretch of success was when the 1952 and 1956 teams won silver and the 1960 team won gold.
